Koko and Joe, where do we even begin? Your Perkins Cove wedding was, at once, so many diverse things. Laid-back yet sophisticated. Warm yet outdoors in the very chilly November air. Light and fun yet profound in all the right ways.
Surrounded by about 60 of their closest friends and family in an intimate setting in Perkins Cove, Ogunquit, Maine, this couple and this day is one we will not soon forget. These two were true sports to be willing to head outdoors in record setting cold.
And they say things often come in threes. And so it was with three little hiccups, all with a great ending. These are fun, so read on!
Story 1: Koko’s mom forgot the marriage license. In a different state. So, being a Friday, the town office was open, and we all jumped in the car and headed there to secure a new one. In and out in under 10 minutes! Oh, small town Maine, how we love thee.
Story 2: Right after the photos on the iconic Perkins Cove footbridge, Koko’s veil blew off into the water below! Luckily it hung up on the shore and luckily, a passerby trekked over the bank and retrieved it. After drying out, it was ready for the ceremony!
Story 3: During the ceremony, Koko and Joe realized they didn’t have the rings! There’s a photo of Koko’s mom running into the house to fetch them.
After the touching ceremony, everyone warmed with great food, spirits, and friendship at nearby Northern Union Restaurant.
