Brenda and Chad were married in a Cape Elizabeth Elopement at the Inn by the Sea on a recent fall weekday. Elopement, you say? Do people still do that? Yes! Elopements can be spontaneous, “we’ve always talked about getting married, let’s elope”; a more methodical approach for partners who have scattered family members; romantic for those who want to sweep their partner off their feet; or couples who want to keep their ceremony intimate and private.

The skies were very dramatic on this late September day, as you can see from the photo below. We were so lucky, as the ceremony was outdoors, that the rain held off! Above, Brenda and Chad, alone in the woods. You’d never know the Inn By The Sea is just feet away!
We had the entire Crescent Beach in Cape Elizabeth all to ourselves, above and below. How lucky were we?
