Kimberly and Tyler were engaged within a few feet of this very spot…. we couldn’t use the precisely exact spot, as, well, it was under water with the high tide. Nevertheless, “Land’s End” on Bailey Island, Maine will forever be their special place. So, of course, what better place, along with nearby Mackeral Cove, for their engagement session! We’re looking forward to their Spruce Point Inn wedding in Boothbay on Memorial Day Weekend of 2013! Here are a few more favorites from our fun photo session.

Erika was one of the most detailed-oriented bride I have ever worked with. She had ideas of her perfect wedding, not to mention a wonderful fiance, John. She made every aspect of her wedding not only come true, but exceed expectations in all ways. Including the wonderful North Dam Mill Event Space in the historic mill district of Biddeford, Maine. The North Dam Mill campus, by the way, just so happens to be where this wedding photographer lives and works. Everything about this wedding, the people, the families, the bridal party was as good as it gets, and this, of course, led us to capturing many fun images we love. Congratulations, Erika and John, you are a special couple!

It’s probably the time of year that has my internal clock thinking of tropical destinations for wedding photography fun and opportunities. It’s sure not the Maine “winter” that can take the blame this year… somehow it’s seeming like we passed from fall to spring… feeling bad , though for those that depend on typical snowfalls for their livelihood… and those that love skiing and snowboarding, ice fishing, ice skating…..etc. But anyhow, I pulled these select images and worked them up post-production for special effect… and just had to share them. Oh… did I mention we love destination weddings?

Colleen and Andrew love Newburyport, MA, so it was an easy spot to choose for a winter engagement session, that, well, was alot more like a mid-spring engagement session. It wasn’t as snowy as the forecasters predicted. It wasn’t all that cold. It was kind of gray. And it was a wonderful day for a wedding! Saturday, February 11, 2012, in downtown Portland, Maine, starting at the new Hampton Inn on Fore Street, then at First Parish Church, a trip to Wharf Street in the Old Port, and with a warm, cozy, friend and fun-filled reception at The Portland Club in Portland, with great food prepared by the always top-notch Black Tie Company, Lindsay and Ben celebrated start of their marriage with all things done right! Here’s a sneak peek at their day. Thanks to wonderful photo assistance by second shooter Patricia Takacs and also Jane Berger for making the day perfect from a photographic standpoint as well. Heather and Brad will be married in Massachusetts in October of this year. They came to Maine on what was so far the coldest weekend of the winter, so we happily did their photography indoors in the areas surrounding my studios and offices. These images evidence the fact that this is a very happy and well-matched couple, so this will be another fun part of what is building to be a fantastic wedding year. 2011 was a great year for Russell Caron Wedding Photography. Like always, again we were blessed with 100% wonderful clients with 100% wonderful weddings. Every year we sit back at this time, collect our most favorite images (using whatever criteria strikes us at the moment…fully realizing that each client’s wedding are THEIR favorite images!) and we re-live the wonderful memories that photographs capture. Mostly we wonder each year how we can possibly do the same or better the next year. Somehow it all works out, as it did for this year, and all the prior, for that matter. Wishing our 2011 couples the happiest marriages and prosperous and fulfilling times, and we wish the very same for our many 2012 couples that we are really anticipating working with, starting soon! HOLLY & RYAN | ENGAGEMENT SESSION | DEC 29, 2011 | AT AN HISTORIC MILL

Holly and Ryan will be married in September 2012 in Portland, but live in Texas working in the oil industry. Home at Holly’s family in Northern Maine for the holidays, we had a 90-minute timeframe to do some creative photos with a cold, but nevertheless fun session, in the historic Mill District of Biddeford, Maine. These wonderful indoor and outdoor spaces are part of the inspiration that led the location of our studio right here.
